What is GBT?

Model kits are usually a solo hobby. GBT turns it into an afternoon of building together.

  • Bring your kit. Any grade, any scale, any state of “I'll get to it someday.”
  • Bust your backlog. That stack of boxes? Today's the day.
  • Try new tools. Test stuff before you buy it.
  • Meet other builders. Swap tips, show off, make build buddies.

How it works

  1. Grab a ticket

    Normal $20, students $15. Seats are limited, so don't wait for the restock.

  2. Bring a kit

    Bring your own kit from the backlog. No kit? Come anyway and help build one from Jchan's backlog.

  3. Build together

    Snip, sand, snack, chat. Leave with more parts on your kit and more friends in the hobby.

    FAQ

    Do I need my own kit?

    Yes, please bring your own kit. That's what the day is for! No kit yet? Come anyway: you can help build one from Jchan's backlog.

    I've never built before. Can I come?

    Absolutely. Bring a beginner-friendly kit (Entry Grade or High Grade is perfect), or help build one from Jchan's backlog. Plenty of builders will be happy to show you the ropes. Nobody's judging your nub marks.

    Are food and drinks allowed?

    Yes! Food, drinks and chatting are all welcome. Check out this month's partner perks too. Just keep drinks away from your parts.

    What tools are provided?

    There's a tool bar where you can try out tools before you buy them. If you have your own basics (nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks), bring them along so you're not waiting your turn.

    How does student pricing work?

    Student tickets are $15. Buy the student ticket online and bring your valid student ID to show at check-in.

    What's the refund policy?

    No refunds once tickets have been purchased. See the full event terms.
